Highland Rim Engraving maintains a database of over 50,000 artwork designs, fonts, files and logos. In many cases, we have your desired design on file ready for production.
Submit your sketches, artwork or design ideas to us at service@hrengraving.com. Please be sure to put "ARTWORK" in the subject line.
Sandcarving and laser engraving is capable of reproducing very high-quality images onto your product. A high-quality product begins with high-quality artwork.
The process used for engraving is different than the process used for printing on your printer. An image that looks good on a printer may not engrave well on a product. We realize there is a substantial cost involved with engraving products and want to ensure that your expectations will always be met or surpassed. Images submitted according to our requirements allow us to make sure that your artwork is presented at the highest possible quality. There is no art charge when submitting vector artwork.
Ideal File Formats for Laser Engraving are:
Please note, sometimes black and white 600 dpi (JPG/PNG/TIFF) file format images are usable. If you think your artwork is sufficient, please send it for review to service@hrengraving.com
If submitting a logo, it may be helpful to contact your company's or organization's graphic department to obtain a High Resolution Logo in the proper format vs. using one off of a web site. If you do not have a vector file or must use one saved as a jpg from your company's website, we can still re-design the image using the artwork you supply, however the ART CHARGE may apply.
We cannot accept artwork saved as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or websites.
Raster files such as .JPG, .TIF, .EXIF, .BMP, .GIF, .PNG or other bitmap files are subject to the ART CHARGE to convert to vector format. Please do not simply rename original raster/bitmap files as .eps, ai, or .cdr. as this does not work.
Examples of artwork that are not production ready:
We reserve the right to refuse any artwork that will not meet our standards of product quality when reproduced with our equipment and processes.
No worries. We can convert your low-resolution files to the file type required. Sometimes it’s a simple conversion, and sometimes we have to completely redraw your logo. The charge to do this varies with the materials you provide us, but typical conversions cost between $20-$75 for us to rework. We’ll review your artwork and provide you with an estimate for the work which can be added to your product order. Generally, we’ll need an additional 2 or 3 days additional to process the file conversion. After we’ve completed the conversion, your new digital vector art will remain on file for other future uses. These vector files are the property of Highland Rim Engraving unless a separate written agreement is made.
Files for engraving that contain just text can be part of an email or attachment in PDF, Word, Excel. To reduce the chances of error and maintain efficiency we will not accept handwritten submissions. Ideally, the text should be typed and proofread before submitting it to us. We will try to spot any errors, but we cannot be responsible for errors for any copy that you submit to us for engraving. Be sure to have someone proof your text: especially people’s names and dates.
For best results, handwriting should be submitted on unlined white paper with clearly written text using medium point black ink. If you are emailing handwriting to be reproduced, please scan the original at the highest possible DPI or photograph in bright, even lighting.
Handwriting photographed on lined or creased paper, with faded text, or that is not clearly photographed may not be suitable for our engraving process or subject to an ART CHARGE.
Graphic Design work is $60 per hour, billable in 15 minute increments ($15/30/45/60). This is a one-time charge and we keep all artwork files created for your future use. This charge does not apply to our stock artwork already prepared and in our extensive database. This charge is in addition to engraving costs.
Customer warrants and represents to HIGHLAND RIM ENGRAVING that he/she is lawfully entitled to reproduce and copy the pictures, logos or artwork ordered and has full authority to authorize us to reproduce and copy such pictures and artwork. The customer will indemnify and save harmless HIGHLAND RIM ENGRAVING against any claims, actions, and damages, and for any expenses connected therewith, arising out of reproductions and copying of such pictures or artwork or any parts thereof.
The ownership and intellectual property rights of all designed artwork created by Highland Rim Engraving (Company) shall remain with the Company, unless otherwise explicitly transferred to the client through a written agreement. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of the artwork is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
